ALL NEW – SIMPLY THE BEST Season 11!

Celebrating the beautiful diversity of Canada.

Our warm congratulations to all the winners of 2019 RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrants. These awardees are recognized through their remarkable work and outstanding contribution to their own communities. And it’s truly inspiring how they continue to support and dedicate their service to others in their own respective fields.

The Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards sponsored by RBC and Canadian Immigrant Magazine introduced us to some it’s 2019 winners – from entrepreneurs to community leaders to creative minds.

We are proud to feature 2 outstanding winners from Vancouver, filmmaker Javier Badillo originally from Venezuela and former MLA Jane Shin who is passionate about helping immigrants and originally from Korea.

Javier Badillo came to Canada in 2002 from Venezuela. His talent, generosity and humility are the 3 things that helped him through his struggles being a new immigrant. Pursuing his dream in filmmaking, his short films have been showcased in Canada, USA, France, Japan, India and the UK.

We met Jane years ago when she was elected MLA for Burnaby-Lougheed. I’ll never forget her genuine smile and humble demeanour. I’m not surprised that she was voted as one of Canada’s top immigrants.

After Jane’s time in public office, she returned to Vancouver Community College to serve as its associate vice president of student success. She also continues to empower and help new immigrants at a settlement agency in Surrey.

“Remember, remember always, that all of us, you and I especially, are descended from immigrants and revolutionists.”

– Franklin D. Roosevelt
