A Full House in WIlliams Lake to kick off Luisa Marshall’s Tina Turner Tribute 2015 BC Fall Tour!

After 7 hrs. of driving from Vancouver we arrived in sunny Williams Lake! It was my TINA’s first time to perform at the Williams Lake Legion and we were happy to know that we had a full house.

Once again it was lovely to see many old fans and I was happy to meet new fans. What blew me away was some people drove 3 hours (from Kamloops) to see my Tina Show. Unbelievable! You guys are amazing!

Thank you all so much! It was such a blast and lots of fun taking selfies with all of you!

SUPER HITS OF THE NIGHT: Private Dancer, Nutbush City Limits, Proud Mary, All About That Bass, Man I Feel Like A Woman.

SUPER THANKS FOR THE STANDING OVATION. What a great crowd! Thanks to all who bought Simply the Best t-shirts and pictures. MWAH!!

PRINCE GEORGE – September 12

Sold Out in Prince George with a ROCKIN' Crowd at Treasure Cove!

Sold Out in Prince George with a ROCKIN’ Crowd at Treasure Cove!

We arrived in rainy Prince George at 3pm. We were looking forward to the show at Treasure Cove Casino show lounge for the first time, especially when we were informed that tickets were sold out 2 days prior and people wanting to buy tickets were actually upset.

The sold out show was just simply the best! It was a beautiful room with amazing acoustics. This year in 2015, my Tina came back for the 3rd time in PG and TINA fans just keep rockin’ my stage. I’m so happy to meet many new fans. They’re pretty wild and hilarious. Actually, the men were crazier than the women. So amused… hehe! WOW!

SUPER HITS OF THE NIGHT: Private Dancer, We Don’t Need Another Hero, Proud Mary, Nutbush City Limits, Bad Romance.

“Amazing night! Luisa Marshall had the entire audience singing, clapping, and laughing. By far one of the most entertaining and interactive performances we have ever held in the Show Lounge. We had people begging to get in after selling the show out days before, buy your tickets early to avoid disappointment! Luisa is one lady you don’t want to miss!”

BURNS LAKE – September 13

Having a GREAT time in Burns Lake!

Having a GREAT time in Burns Lake!

Fundraising for Kyle Daniels Memorial Pow Wow.

I was touched by the spirits of the people who came together at the Gathering Place. Born and raised in Burns Lake, Kyle Daniels was tragically killed during a robbery. Steve and I met his mother Violet last night and she expressed her gratitude for us helping out in our own little way. Thank you so much for your kind applause, cheers and beautiful smiles. We enjoyed the hospitality and the bannock bread.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Ken Michell who was injured in the Babine Forest Products sawmill explosion in 2012 which killed his cousin and another co-worker. His spirit was up when I dedicated Proud Mary to him and his wife Theresa.

SHOUT OUT TO Lloyd Abraham for organizing this fundraising event.

SUPER THANKS TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF KYLE!

“You should feel beautiful and you should feel safe. What you surround yourself with should bring you peace of mind and peace of spirit.” – Stacy London

Exploring Burns Lake

Luisa enjoying a day to relax before going on to her next show.

Luisa enjoying a day to relax before going on to her next show.

Spending my recovery day checking out BURNS LAKE downtown. Promised my awesome crowd last night that I would stay in Burns Lake to relax and shop. Spent the whole morning resting then roared all over town filming and taking pics. Stopped at an RV parking downtown and bought some organic apple cider vinegar, Vega, Recovery pills, etc. at a natural health food store. Inside the store is also New Leaf Cafe where we ate a delicious lunch… also met some fun people from UK.

We stayed and camped at Beaver Point Resort located on beautiful Tchesinkut Lake, 16 kms south of Burns Lake, BC, in the heart of the Lakes District.

HOUSTON – September 15

Packed house in Houston!!

Packed house in Houston!!

WOW, HOUSTON! Never expected a packed house on a Tuesday night! Everybody was ready for TINA and partied the whole evening. The Legion ran out of red wine! The crowd just laughed, clapped, cheered and sang. Tables and chairs were crammed on the dance floor so the people danced on my stage and where they were seated in front of their table. Yes, this time the women outnumbered the men. But the men were absolutely hilarious! I even got a $135 tip to buy my own bottle of red wine coz the bar run out. LOL! THANK YOU!!!

Sexy Dancer on stage.

I remember performing here in Houston at the dry Grad Dance in 1994, Houston Arena. Those were my real rock days performing weekly in bars around BC 6 nights a week 🙂

SMITHERS – September 16

Luisa's new dancers on stage!

Luisa’s new dancers on stage!

REVISITING WEDNESDAY! DAY 6 BC FALL Tour 2015.  We had the most amazing crowd at the packed Legion in Smithers, BC. People bought tickets way in advance and there were still people lined up to get in. We didn’t expect such an amazing turnout! We were just planning on cruisin’ all the way to Terrace and Prince Rupert for our weekend shows but then we thought of dropping by Smithers to revisit our friends. We made the right decision and sure enough old friends and supporters came and watched my TINA after my former band Hall of Fame retired in 1997. All I can say is WOW! I’m so touched with the kind & generous gesture! Smithers ROCKS on a Wednesday! UNBELIEVABLE!

AHA MOMENT! Part of the Ramos’s Family came and I was surprised to see Tatay Ramos after all these years. He would never fail to come and see my old band everytime we were in Smithers. He would dance all night and would have fun with us. He just turned 80 years old and he still danced with me last night! I luv, luv that! I’m so jealous that Tatay Ramos has no wrinkles at all! I asked him, “what is your secret?” and he said, “I can’t tell you!” LOL!

SUPER THANKS FOR THE AWESOME WEDNESDAY NIGHT, SMITHERS! You guys are so much fun!

TERRACE – September 18

Rockin' the R.E.M. Lee Theatre!!

Rockin’ the R.E.M. Lee Theatre!!

TERRACE ROCKS! WE DID IT! At the R.E.M. Lee Theatre, the crowd welcomed my TINA with open arms. I am so touched with the crowd’s thunderous applause for my daughters Kimi and Zenia. Sooooo proud of my daughters and sharing the stage with them was one of the highlights of this tour. Both the staff and TINA fans had a blast! We also had an awesome time during the meet and greet. It was nice to see very familiar faces and so nice to meet new faces. 🙂

THANKS: to Moppette Otto for the delicious dinner and chocolate Filipino champurado (sweet rice), mango pudding, pears, apples, etc. Also thanks for picking up Kimi and Zenia at the Terrace airport! WOW! She’s the best!!

SUPER SHOUT OUT TO OUR MAJOR SPONSOR: CFNR

PRINCE RUPERT – September 19

Awesome dance moves on stage!

Awesome dance moves on stage!

SUCCESSFUL REPEAT! WHAT A BLAST, PRINCE RUPERT!!! Chances Convention Centre was busy Saturday night with friends, family, supporters and TINA fans once again. I performed here 2 months ago so the huge turnout last night was unexpected. Despite the successful show, some people complained that there was no dance floor and that the people seated on the far corners of the room couldn’t even see us properly. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience especially when some people started to dance in front of the tables near the stage. We appreciate your kind support and understanding.

SUPER SHOUT OUT: to the Filipino Canadian Association of Prince Rupert! Thanks for the outpouring support after all these years.

We had the most awesome time on stage with the people of PR!

HITS OF THE NIGHT: Proud Mary, We Don’t Need Another Hero, Private Dancer, Roxy Roller, All About That Bass, Nutbush City Limits

So much fun in Prince Rupert when you’re with friends and family celebrating my mother-in-law’s 80th birthday! Happy Birthday, Mary Ellen Marshall! Mwahs!

GITSEGUKLA – September 22

Gitsegukla, it was an honour to perform for you all!

Gitsegukla, it was an honour to perform for you all!

ROCKIN’ TUESDAY IN GITSEGUKLA! The children were so cute! We were so glad to rock this wonderful village 40 km southwest of Hazelton, British Columbia.

YES, Tuesday night in Gitsegukla…  It just rocked! We were happy to be a part of the fundraising event. We’re so honoured and proud!

BEST TIME! Meet & Greet with the beautiful people of Gitsegukla. Signing autographs and having selfies with everyone. Everybody looked so happy!

MY FAVE MOMENT! Sharing the stage with my daughters Kimi and Zenia Marshall is one of the best moments during my BC Fall Tour 2015 and so moving to me as a mother. The best part of my life is being a mother to these 2 wonderful girls who have learned to accept me as I am and have given me unconditional love and support throughout my journey. I share my experiences of giving love and hope to all those who need it.
The show was to raise money for the Gidahmes Dancers of the Gitxsan Nation. My children experienced first hand the warm hospitality of the First Nations Gitxsan community on Gitsegukla Indian Reserve No. 1.

THINKING BACK! My former band Hall of Fame performed at a dance in this village way, way back so there were people who loved to hear Roxy Roller again!

To all the children of Gitsegukla, continue to be happy! My daughters KIMI and Zenia Marshall and I luv y’all. It’s truly memorable. Til next time. Mwahs!

“Our uniqueness, our individuality, and our life experience molds us into fascinating beings. I hope we can embrace that. I pray we may all challenge ourselves to delve into the deepest resources of our hearts to cultivate an atmosphere of understanding, acceptance, tolerance, and compassion. We are all in this life together.” – Linda Thompson

Sold Out in Salt Spring Island AGAIN!

ROCKIN’ SATURDAY! FULL HOUSE ON SALT SPRING ISLAND Legion. It was indeed a fabulous evening. Tina fans sang, danced, clapped, laughed and cheered the whole time. It felt like New Year’s eve. What a feeling to see so many happy faces! While I was thanking them for coming, they were also thanking me for coming to their island. WOW! I was completely overwhelmed on how many people I touched with my TINA show.

BEST FACEBOOK COMMENT:

“You create such a feeling of community wherever you go. You are an Ambassador of Congeniality. I don’t know most of the people who come to your concert (we brought our dear neighbours) but at the end of the evening I feel we are all brothers and sisters, with no judgement. We ran the Terry Fox and other concert goers said hello.” – Dan Dickmeyer, resident, Salt Spring Island.

BEST PART: Just connecting to my audience in an old fashioned way... sincerity in being gracious to all every step of the way. Having selfies and a little chat with all who stayed after the show.

SPECIAL MOMENT: Inviting the birthday celebrant David Stewart Payne to do the Nutbush Dance with me. Last year, I had him dancing and singing with me during Land of 1,000 Dances.

Thank you, Salt Spring Island Legion for the hospitality. Thanks to all the beautiful Tina fans for coming. Luv y’all. See ya next year! Mwahssss!!!!!
