It’s our pride and honour to feature the 25th anniversary celebration of the Royal City Sister City Society. The idea of sisterhood is inspired by Tom Pagalilauan from the Philippines when he approached Tita Annie Miles about it way back 1985. After five years of city councils and meetings with community leaders in New Westminster and Metro Vancouver, on June 17, 1991 the Memorandum of Agreement confirming the sister cities relationship was signed by Mayor Betty Toporoski of New Westminster and Mayor Brigido Simon Jr of Quezon City. On Nov. 11, 2016, the Royal City Sister City Society celebrated its 25th year anniversary.
