From Luisa

It is with pride and honor for me to be chosen as a finalist in this prestigious program, the 5th annual RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards presented by Canadian Immigrant magazine and Chevrolet.

What an achievement for me to have been nominated and elected by my fellow Canadians as one of the 75 finalists for this year’s program. I have been overwhelmed as there were hundreds of nominations and many deserving candidates. My dream to become a true role model and an inspiration for many new Canadians coming to this country is happening already. Being included in the shortlist of 75 finalists is already very special to me.

I’m very moved and humbled that my fellow Canadians recognized my hard work and dedication of staying true as an artist and a contributing member of the community. Just like all of the new Canadians regardless of color, race and gender, I am no different than anyone of you. We are all living here in our adopted beautiful country where we can embrace diversity and multiculturalism without prejudism, where together we have hope and where we can excel and make our dreams come true. Canada has openly allowed us to be the outstanding people we are today by merely sticking to our moral values, proper standards and good principles. The opportunities are overflowing, the possibilities are endless to seek for better future. We stand so proud and strong to be true Canadians. With this I continue to devote myself and commit all my efforts to contribute and give back to this country that welcomed myself, my family and my friends. I am forever grateful to be a Canadian.

“You simply will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you.”
– Sarah Ban Breathnach

Being a finalist for the Top 25 Canadian Immigrants 2013, I take this challenge and hope to continue to inspire and empower others with your help.
