BALLET PHILIPPINES MASTERPIECES REVIEW
by Luisa Marshall

STB 232 Paul Pincott, Ballet Philippines5

Ballet Philippines Masterpieces

From neo-classical pieces to traditional, then to popular playful folk songs with some sharp contemporary movements mixed into fluid ballet choreography, BRAVO, Ballet Philippines!

MASTERPIECES didn’t only showcase the culture of the Philippines through dance but demonstrated the ability of talented Filipino dancers to also dominate the international stage through ballet. Ballet Philippines president Margie Moran-Floirendo said during our interview that the 12 pieces were carefully chosen to cater to everyone. For me, there was enough talent that support the good reputation of this world class ballet production.

Positive rave reviews overflowed at the River Rock Theatre after a long standing ovation. So proud of these young group of talented Filipinos who worked hard to perfect their craft. Who says that ballet is boring? Whether you like ballet or not, people will be talking and raving about Ballet Philippines “MasterPieces” for a long time. BRAVO!
