I’m so thrilled to share my LA experience made colorful by my good friends LA based journalists Ruben and Janet Nepales. Ruben’s first book “My Filipino Connection, The Philippines In Hollywood” is to acknowledge and recognize Filipino artists in the US and Canada for their outstanding groundbreaking work. There are 21 Filipino Americans and 2 Filipino Canadians being recognized in Ruben’s book and I’m proud to say I’m one of them. It’s an honor for me to be included amongst all other Filipinos who followed their dreams and continue to be inspired with their passion.
Ruben was on the show a couple of years ago… I interviewed him in Manila where we both happened to accept our respective awards from our alma mater UST, University of Santo Tomas AB Gantimpala Awards.
I had a great time in LA meeting old friends, new friends, and my high school classmates who came to the book launch. Not to forget super eating out for 4 straight days with family. I love tacos! My brother, Oliver, flew to LA from the Philippines to celebrate with me at the successful launching of Ruben’s “My Filipino Connection, The Philippines In Hollywood”.
