Lulu’s Lounge @ the River Rock with the best Vancouver live party band the Luisa Marshall Band

Luisa Marshall Band ROCKS River Rock Casino’s Lulu’s Lounge on Friday, January 3rd and Saturday, January 4th to kick off the first weekend of 2014. The dance floor was packed for 3 solid one hour long sets from 9:30pm to 1:30am. There were huge line ups and waiting lists to get in. The hits of the night… LMB’s ABBA MEDLEY, B52’s LOVESHACK, Tina Turner’s SIMPLY THE BEST, Prince’s KISS, Pointer Sister’s I’M SO EXCITED, Robin Thicke’s BLURRED LINES to name a few. People were cheering and applauding for more after our last song at 1:30am!

The band’s repertoire is a wide variety of top 40 hits from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s to the current hits. Joining Luisa Marshall on stage are her talented family members Steve Marshall (drums), daughter Kimi Mendez (lead guitar/vocals), sister Tota Mendez (vocals/percussion) and top notch musicians Jojo Palermo (keyboards), Marlowe Mata (bass/vocals), Denis Timoshenko (sax/bongos/percussion), with special guest Star Bernardo (vocals/percussion).

The best live party band in Vancouver had the dance floor jammed packed with people moving tables further and further out for more space to dance! We all had such a great time. Thank you all for your wonderful comments. We had so many people come up to us and tell us that not only did we look amazing on stage we sounded amazing! – Now sound wise, we can’t take all the credit… hehe! Super thanks to sound man extraordinaire Tony for making us sound awesome for the 2 nights, we love you!

The best part was meeting all the new people and seeing those familiar faces who come out to support us all the time! What an awesome moment for us to sing a birthday song to WINNIE on her 100th birthday while a lounge staff brought in a beautiful cake! 100th BIRTHDAY! WOH! Surrounded by her family and friends, she was simply so delighted and touched when I dedicated and sang Simply the Best to her… strutted to where she was… sat down beside her… and simply held her hand. Very heartwarming! We were simply blown away!

Winnie Paulik was the 100 year old lady you sang to the other night at Lulu’s. She wanted me to tell you “Thank-you” and to tell you that she will be “back to see you again someday”. You made her night Luisa, Thanks from all her friends.
